In 2006, Taras Buyachok came up with the idea to make Ukrainian craft wine in Ternopil region. At that time wine culture in Ukraine just started to develop. He liked the process of creating and the culture of consuming the wine. He wanted to share it with his countrymen and then with the whole world.

There was a winery right in the yard where new products were tested and created. All the processes from production to storage were conducted there. After Volodymyr passed away, the winery building became one of the furniture shops, another family business.

After some time, his wife and children – Taras and Oksana – decided to revive their father’s business. After a discussion, the name we know today was born, and a new voice for the brand emerged. Later, Father`s Wine and COSMOS met, and got acquainted and that’s how our joint adventure began.

The existing two-storey building was 400 m2. It wasn’t enough to develop a brand.  The founders understood that renovation was necessary. The main goal was to show the brand as it is. Bright, modern and understandable to people from all over the country.

In this case, renovation never changed the primary functions of the space. It just made it client-oriented. The main focus is to present the brand to the guests. It is important how and where and in what atmosphere you first meet the Father`s Wine.

We designed a lot of tiny islands for spending time together. On the second floor there is a tasting room and laboratory, lecture hall and kitchen, on the first floor you can find places for wine storage. The number of people who got acquainted with the brand increased dramatically.

The first floor is divided into three main blocks: meeting guests, storage and production. It starts from the reception and right next to it there is a place to purchase some wine and the path takes you to the lounge zone. 

Storage of wine. Every sort needs compliance with a special temperature regime, so it is divided into three areas: a wine in bottles, in barrels and sparkling wine. There is also some space to taste the wine right there. 

Production. The main goal is to make as much open space as possible. It should be flexible and easy transferable according to the stage of production.


A special place in wine culture is dedicated to tasting. Usually, it was performed in a summer kitchen near the family’s house. In warm seasons they were taking the table outside and tasted the wine there. 

We wanted to preserve the tradition with the large table in the yard and at the same time separate the private area from the public one. We took the table to the covered terrace in front of the winery.

The private house and the winery are located close to each other. So it was important to protect the privacy of the Cosmos family. We provided different solutions, one of them – making the entrance to the winery in the middle – Clients liked the most.

A guest visiting the winery will enter through the vineyard and will see the facade of the building. To implement the idea, we had to change the plan of the territory, mainly changing the entrance and moving some of the vineyards. Our Clients started to work on it immediately
